You can now purchase a copy of the Car Maintenance Bibles formatted as an e-Book, delivered as Adobe PDF Files for US$19.99. Do with them what you wish, within limits. Print them out at home to read at your leisure. Take them to work and discuss them with colleagues. Print them out and use them as expensive toilet paper. It's up to you.

What do I get?
You get a zip file containing the PDF documents, each formatted for US Letter sized paper with all the advertising removed.
What about the calculators in the Tyre Bible?
Obviously active javascripts can't be ported to a PDF file so I will include a single HTML document that is a self-contained page with the 4 Tyre Bible calculators on it. Simply open this in your favourite browser and the calculators will work.
Is there automated document delivery?
Not any more. Due to ongoing inconsistencies in the way my storefront did (or didn't) communicate with PayPal, I've had to make the process a little less automated.
I accept payments through PayPal and once I'm notified of your purchase, I'll send you a link to where you can download the documents. This will normally not take more than 24 hours. If it takes longer, feel free to pester me by email.
You do not need to sign up for a Paypal account to make the purchase. I have enabled express checkout which simply requires valid payment and address details.
2008 'blackout' dates : There are times of the year when I'm away from email completely and will not be able to respond immediately. Because I generate the links manually, I'd appreciate it if you could not place an order between August 13th-19th 2008. If you do, there will be a delay in replying to you.
Why should I pay? You've put the Bibles online for free!
Converting these pages to working PDF files took time and effort. Everything else on the site is free. If you want to download the pages and reformat them yourself, then convert them into PDF files, go right ahead. The $19.99 is a nominal fee to cover the cost of the time it took for me to do this for you, and to help cover the cost of running my site free of all advertising other than the Google Ads. It's not just a simple case of copy-and-paste. I had to convert the HTML to Word documents first, then reformat all the pictures and text, the convert that to the final PDF files.
What rights do I have to re-use the PDF documents?
You can use the PDF documents for your own reference, but may not sell them on nor make copies for further distribution without express written permission. You may not use them for commercial gain.
Any disclaimers?
Yes. The information in the Car Maintenance Bibles is the result of many years of information-gathering and personal experience. I'm not sponsored by any corporations or companies, nor do I claim to represent their views. I'm not a trained mechanic, I'm simply a home mechanic with an interest in cars and motorbikes, who originally was looking for a single repository of useful information. I decided to write that information after I couldn't find it. If you choose to take my advice or act on information contained in the Car Maintenance Bibles, you do so at your own risk. The sale of the PDF documents will be considered as the contract whereby you agree to hold harmless Christopher J Longhurst (me) against any and all claims, damages, costs or other expenses that arise directly or indirectly out of or from your activities in connection with the content of the PDF documents.
Important note: for the moment, the Bike suspension bible and Steering Bible are "in build" so they are not included in the PDF documents. Once the pages are finished and in regular circulation, I'll PDF-ise them and include them and this note will go away.
